The CarMax Foundation was established in 2003 to support the communities where our Associates live and work. Over the past several years, we've accomplished our goal by providing volunteers, matching gifts, and grants to worthy nonprofit organizations.

CarMax Cares Month Inspires Associates to Give Again
For the second year in a row, volunteers from CarMax Sanford helped make a difference to the nonprofit organization Give Kids the World in June, 2008. The organization fulfills the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses and their families by providing visits to Central Florida attractions. Give Kids the World has made a promise to never turn a child away and relies on the generosity of volunteers.
Thanks to the Sanford store volunteers, called "Angels" by the organization, a warehouse full of donated items has been organized for use at the Give Kids the World Village. Treating visitors as special guests, the Village provides everything children and their families need to make joyous memories in a magical place.
The volunteer event allowed a team of CarMax Associates to have fun working for a great cause. There was plenty of work to do, and they could see what a difference their small act of kindness could make for deserving families from around the world.
